Heather Jack

Heather has worked in the information arena for almost 20 years in both public and private sector organizations.

 

Having gained an MA in History at the University of Glasgow, and an MA (post grad) in Library and Information Management, University of Sheffield she worked for six years with the Libraries department of Renfrew District Council. She then moved to the technology solutions company, ISI Group, as Information and Knowledge Manager where her roles included managing the company’s information collections, setting up the company intranet, undertaking market research and delivering internal information and EDMS training. Latterly she became an external consultant working with clients to implement electronic document management systems.

She became an independent information management consultant in 2003. Her goal is to help her clients improve their information and knowledge management practices in support of their organizational goals and regulatory obligations. She takes a very “people” centred approach as she is aware that managing organizational change is integral to delivering successful information management programmes regardless of scope and scale.

 

She is the current Chair of the Records Management Society Scotland Group, a group dedicated to both supporting people in information management roles in Scotland and raising awareness of the strategic benefits of good information management practice across Scottish public and private sectors.
